Chinese Embassy held press conference on the occasion of Anniversary of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC)

On the occasion of Anniversary of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), the Chinese Embassy to the Republic of Ghana held a press conference in Accra on 8th November 2007.

H. E. Mr. Yu Wenzhe, the Ambassador, made a presentation at the conference. He introduced China's foreign policy as well as its African policy. Yu recapped the Beijing Summit of FOCAC which was held last November, and briefed the audience the latest development of the implementation of the Beijing Summit follow-up actions in the past year. He described that Ghana has been an important partner of China in west-Africa region, and the cordial relations between the two countries has yielded good results in the fields of Trading, investment, human resources training, culture, tourism and etc. After the briefing, Yu interacted with the journalists on various bilateral and regional issues. He was also interviewed by the journalists from Daily Graphic and Metro TV.

Over 60 guests attended the press conference, including journalists from the Ghana News Agency, Daily Graphic, Ghanaian Times, GTV, Metro TV, TV Africa and government officials from the Ministries of Ghana as well as delegates from the Chinese companies in Ghana. They commended the efforts of the Chinese government in implementing the Beijing Summit follow-up actions.
