The Chinese Embassy in Ghana Host the Reception Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China And Welcoming Ambassador TONG Defa’s Assumption of Office

On September 20, the Chinese Embassy in Ghana held a reception at the Ambassador’s Residence to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and welcome the Chinese Ambassador H.E. TONG Defa’s Assumption of Office. H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana, attended the Reception. Hon. Albert Kan-Dapaah, Minister for National Security, delivered a speech on behalf the Government of Ghana.

In his speech, H.E. TONG introduced the important results of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China,the main results of the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Beijing Summit and China-Africa and the development achievements of the PRC over the past 75 years since its founding. H.E. TONG expressed his readiness to deepen bilateral cooperation to bring benefits to the two peoples.

Hon. Kan-Dapaahpraised the outcomes of the FOCAC Summit, welcomed H.E. TONG for his assumption of office, thanked China for its long-time support, reaffirmed Ghana’s unwavering commitment to the one-China principle and looked forward to a new chapter in bilateral relations towards a Ghana-China community with a shared future for common development and modernization.

In an interview with CCTV, President Akufo-Addo congratulated Chinas National Anniversary andspoke highly of the FOCAC Summit and bilateral relations.
