On 16 February 2017, Chinese Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Mdm. Sun Baohong attended the donation of a borehole to OIC Kumasi Training Centre by the Ghana Chinese Chamber of Commerce (GCCC) and delivered a speech. Mr. Tang Hong, Chairman of GCCC and Mr. Michael Ataogye, Metropolitan Coordinating Director of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), members of Ghana-China Friendship Association as well as teachers and students from the center attended the ceremony.

In her address, Ambassador Sun gave a introduction of China-Ghana relations and cooperation, and commended GCCC for implementing social responsibility and devoting to charity. Ambassador Sun said that the new government of Ghana attaches great importance to vocational and technical education and wishes to use it to accelerate industrialization of Ghana. The Chinese side is committed to conducting win-win cooperation with the Ghanaian side and will continue to support the latter’s vocational and technical education to support the development cause of Ghana.

Mr. Ataogye expressed his sincere gratitude to the Chinese side for donating a borehole to the center. He said that Ghana and China enjoy long-term deep traditional friendship. The borehole, a gift from the Chinese side, fully reveals the friendship between the two peoples. Kumasi is an ideal investment destination with a favorable environment. KMA warmly welcomes the Chinese investors to invest and develop in Kumasi so as to achieve win-win results.

Before the donation, Ambassador Sun, accompanied by the management of the Center, visited all the departments and had cordial exchanges with the students.
