Chinese Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Mdm. Sun Baohong visited the Ashanti Region (Ⅲ)

On 16 February 2017, Chinese Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Mdm. Sun Baohong visited Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and was warmly received by Mr. George Tetteh, Director of Administration of KATH and other members of the management.

Ambassador Sun extended her gratitude to the warm reception of KATH, gave a brief introduction of China-Ghana cooperation on health and commended the achievements of cooperation between KATH and Guangdong General Hospital. Ambassador Sun said that China is committed to helping African countries enhance public health security and capacity of diseases prevention and control, and is ready to strengthen cooperation with KATH on personnel training, establishment of new departments, infectious diseases prevention and treatment as well as traditional medicine.

Mr. Tetteh warmly welcomed the visit of Ambassador Sun and extended his gratitude to China for its long-term support to KATH. Prof. Achaw said that doctors from Guangdong General Hospital have performed free cardio-vascular surgeries twice in KATH and reaped wide accolades from the Ghana society. He hoped that Guangdong General Hospital could continue to carry out such cardio-vascular surgeries for the Ghanaian people. He also wished that the Chinese side could support KATH in building a cardio-vascular center in KATH for the well-being of the Ghanaian people.
