On 31st August 2016, on behalf of Chinese Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Mdm. Sun Baohong, Political Counsellor of Chinese Embassy to Ghana Mr. Jiang Zhouteng attended the hand-over ceremony of footballs donated by Chinese Embassy to Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) and delivered a speech. The Mayor of Accra Hon. Alfred Okoe Vanderpujie and other major officials from AMA attended the Ceremony.
Mr. Jiang Zhouteng said that the Chinese Embassy in Ghana enjoys good partnership with AMA. We hope that those footballs could help more Ghanaian youth realize the dream of football. For recent years, China-Ghana cultural and people-to-people exchanges have kept heating up, and our cooperation in the field of culture, education and sports has become increasingly closer. The Chinese Embassy will continue to strengthen cooperation with AMA and make more contributions to China-Ghana friendship.
Hon. Vanderpujie expressed appreciation to the Chinese Embassy for the assistance provided to AMA. He said that these footballs would be used for daily training of the young people in rural schools, and he hoped the young football players would become the ambassadors of friendship between the two countries.
At the request of AMA, the Chinese Embassy in Ghana donates 100 footballs to AMA, which will be used for physical education in rural schools.
