On 1 August 2016, Political Counselor of Chinese Embassy in Ghana Mr. Wang Sheng attended the launch of the broadcasting of Chinese Football Association Super League by GTV and delivered a speech. The manager of Ghana Broadcasting Corporation’s (GBC) digital terrestrial TV Sports Channel Mr. George Lomotey, the manager of Human Resources of GTV Mrs. K.O. Asare, the manager of overseas development of StarTimes Group Mr. Song Wei and other guests attended the event.
In his speech, Political Counselor Wang Sheng extended congratulations to GTV on broadcasting the Chinese Football Association Super League for the first time in history， and indicated that it will further help the Ghanaian people to know more about the Chinese football and Chinese culture. He also spoke highly of StarTimes Group for the positive contributions it has made to African digital media development and hoped that the cooperation between GTV and StarTimes Group could further promote the people-to-people understanding and cultural exchanges between the two countries and consolidate the foundation of China-Ghana traditional friendship.
GBC’s digital terrestrial TV Sports Channel in partnership with StarTimes Group will broadcast the Chinese Football Association Super League, German Bundesliga and Italian Serie A on GTV sports+ in August this year. This launch aims to promote the Ghanaian TV viewers’ knowledge of this program.
The audience present watched some promotional video of Chinese Football Association Super League. Everyone was enthusiastic in watching the matches and the whole event was immersed in lively atmosphere.
