Chinese Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Shi Ting Wang Attends the Opening Ceremony of Ghana China Trade Week In 2019
2019/07/13

On June 19, Chinese Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Shi Ting Wang participated in the opening ceremony of China Trade Week in Ghana and delivered a speech. Minister of Business Development of Ghana Hon. Ibrahim Mohamed Awal, former Ghanaian Ambassador to China H.E. Annani Demuyakor, CEO of National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ghana Mr. Mark Badu-Aboagye, CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority Akwasi Agyeman, government officials, and representatives from Ghana business community attended the opening ceremony.

Ambassador Wang firstly congratulated on the successful launch of this year’s Ghana-China Trade Week and introduced the fruitful results of China-Ghana economic and trade cooperation in recent years. Ambassador Wang pointed out that the world today is undergoing profound and complex changes, international trade and investment are sluggish, protectionism and unilateralism are being intensified. Some country tries to force other countries to accept unequal agreements by wavering the “big stick” of tariffs and sanctions, which increases the instability and uncertainty of world economic development. The results of China-Ghana cooperation are hard-won against this context. As a responsible country, China will continue to expand its openness and strengthen dialogue and cooperation with Africa and other countries through the “One Belt and One Road” initiative, China International Import Expo, China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo, etc., to resist risks and challenges and achieve mutual benefit.

After the opening ceremony, Ambassador Wang, accompanied by the organizers, visited the pavilion with the guests attending the opening ceremony and was interviewed by Ghanaian media.
