On 4th August, 2024, H.E. Tong Defa, the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Ghana, arrived in Accra. The representative of the Ghanaian Government, Deputy Director of the Protocol Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Mr. Arthur Mills, major diplomats from the Chinese Embassy, and representatives of overseas Chinese in Ghana, greeted and welcomed the new Chinese Ambassador at the airport.
Ambassador Tong said that it was a great honor to be the 17th Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, and he had a strong sense of responsibility with a glorious mission. China-Ghana relations had been enjoying a long history and a sound momentum of development in recent years. He was ready to work with friends from all areas in China and Ghana to promote China-Ghana relations to a higher level and build a China-Africa community with a shared future.
On behalf of the Ghanaian Government, Mr. Mills warmly welcomed Ambassador Tong to Ghana. He said that the Ghanaian government would provide convenience and support for the Ambassador in performing his duties and jointly push for new development of China-Ghana friendly cooperative relations.
