NOTICE ON THE OPENING OF CHINA VISA APPLICATION CENTER IN ACCRA

In order to better serve the personnel exchanges between China and Ghana, and to provide applicants with more comfortable and convenient visa processing conditions as well as providing professional and efficient visa services, starting from August 7, 2023, China Visa Application Center in Accra (hereinafter referred to as the "Visa Application Center") will be responsible for handling applications for Chinese ordinary visas. The relevant matters are hereby notified as follows:

I.The Visa Application Center will start trial operation from August 7 to August 8, 2023 (no service fee will be charged during the trial operation period), and will officially open business on August 11, 2023. Applicants can fill in forms and make appointments online through the Visa Application Center website. The Embassy will no longer accept ordinary visa applications from holders of ordinary passports.

Opening Hours: Monday to Friday(except holidays, further notice will be given)

Application Submission Time: 9:00 am to 15:00 

Payment and Collection Time: 9:00 am to 16:00

II. Applicants holding diplomatic or official passports or those applying for China diplomatic, courtesy, or official visas can directly submit their application materials to the Embassy without making an appointment. The Embassy will continue to handle notarization, authentication, passport and travel document services. The service and collection hours for these services are 9:00am to 12:00am and 15:00 to 17:00 every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (excluding holidays). Application for notarization and authentication does not require an appointment. Passports and travel documents can be processed online through the "China Consular Affairs" app.

III. The Visa Application Center will collect the visa and visa express fees (which remain the same as before) on behalf of the Embassy. The Visa Application Center will also charge a visa service fee. For details on the schedule of service fee, please refer to the Visa Application Center website.

IV. The Visa Application Center is not involved in the visa approval process. Consular officials decide whether to issue a visa, its validity period, duration of stay,and number of entries based on the specific circumstances of the applicant. Consular officials may require additional supporting documents or an interview depending on the situation.

V. Apart from the Visa Application Center, the Embassy has not entrusted any other institutions or individuals to provide visa services. Applicants are advised to be cautious when dealing with intermediaries.
